Name: Saya Akitsuki Affinity: Light Backstory: The childhood friend of one Akihiko Kasuga, Saya grew up next door to him, and the two were inseperable as children. Saya was often praised in the neighborhood as a helpful young girl, often coming around and helping the old ladies who lived at the end of the road carry home groceries or, when she was old enough, babysitting for some younger children. While less lofty in her aims than Akihiko, her life goal was still to seek ways to help other people; as such, she took to school clubs like a duck to water, which sometimes created difficulties spending time with her friends. Indeed, Saya had many friends; the cute, helpful and kind girl she was, she attracted much attention from others. Her closest friend was always Akihiko, however; the two of them stuck together through thick and thin, him making as much time as he could helping her out at clubs. In return for helping her get supplies for clubs, she helped him pursue journalism, taking the pictures for his first ever article, and being the one responsbile for Akihiko's acceptance into the school newspaper, as she had a few friends among the members of the newspaper. Her popularity carried on into Our Lady of Hermelin, with Saya being well-known there. With the opportunity to open up a club of her own due to the Literature Club moving rooms, however, she took the opportunity to create what she deemed the Helper's Club, inspired by some light novels she liked, with the aim of helping students and other clubs with their problems. Despite her popularity, however, not many joined the Helper's Club for various reasons. It was through the Club, however, that Akihiko would have a fateful encounter, as one of the first requests the Helper's Club received was from a new transfer from the countryside asking for help with bullies. Saya pursued her connections, while Akihiko instead investigated the plan directly, leading to him sabotaging the plan, and taking a massive hit to his popularity, along with an attempted assault on him that ended poorly for his would-be assailants. Saya was saddened as a result; while she felt that she and Akihiko had done what they should have, she regretted that all of the fallout had fallen on Akihiko. Slowly, however, word of mouth had begun to come around that Akihiko had done the right thing, but the damage was done. Saya herself was still well-liked, but people felt that Saya was tying herself down remaining Akihiko's friend and running a pointless club like the Helper's Club. In defiance of all this, however, the Helper's Club remains open, Saya and Akihiko trying to keep it alive, and the Helper's Club request board remains open, the occasional request still filing in.
